Together with the rest of the world, we are watching the tragic and unprovoked attacks unfold in Ukraine with sadness and disbelief. Our hearts break to see so many people devastated, and the resulting humanitarian crisis.
We have a number of links to Eastern Europe as a business, and through a joint effort between our wider company (the John Cotton Group) and colleagues we have been supporting the humanitarian crisis through the donation of over 5,000 pillows and duvets, as well as collecting essential goods which have been sent in trucks to those displaced to Poland. In addition to this support, the John Cotton Europe business has so far employed 10 Ukrainian refugees which will enable these individuals to start to rebuild their lives.
At Sleepseeker, we believe in the power of many, and we hope many of you reading this find ways to support the Ukrainian people as our thoughts remain with those affected by this crisis.
There's almost nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby wrapped in a cosy duvet. However, fluffy duvets and tiny pillows can pose a hazard to your newborn. If you're waiting for your little one to arrive, an infant duvet shouldn't be at the top of your shopping list. While a child-sized duvet is often an excellent bedding item for toddlers, it's...
Feather duvets help you sleep well every night by keeping you very comfortable and warm. The most sought-after version of a feather duvet is a down duvet, a specific kind of feather duvet that only uses down feathers which are fluffier and lighter. At Sleepseeker, we’ve put together a guide on the differences between feather and down duvets, making it...
For many of us, no winter is complete without pulling out our trusty duvets and warming up under layers of soft, comfortable down. Even though duvets have a reputation for lasting years, we still need to take care of them. When it comes to the best way to store duvets, there’s a proper and improper way to do it. Our...
There are few things more luxurious than a plush feather duvet. It makes it easy to switch up your decor look between seasons or whenever the mood strikes you. As easy as a feather duvet can make your life from an interior design standpoint, it can be a pain to handle if it gets dirty. Feathers can be a tricky...
Many people use a duvet in their homes but struggle when it comes to washing it. The first step is to know what kind of duvet you have. Duvets have different fillings, and the filling in your duvet will determine whether or not you can wash it in the bath or not. Once you know a duvet can be washed...
Knowing how to get stains out of duvets doesn't come naturally like other soft clothes. Thanks to their size, thickness, and texture, the cleaning approach for duvets requires more technicality as different duvets come with specific washing instructions. It might seem like it's near impossible to remove stains in your duvet. They are large and more stressful to clean, but...
Your duvet keeps you warm and covered at night, ensuring a comfortable sleep. You spend about a third of your life in bed, so you want to invest wisely in your bedding and get a good duvet. That said, there is no hard-and-fast rule for what makes the "perfect" duvet. Several duvets are available, featuring variations in tog rating, filling, seasonal appropriateness...
Sometimes it can be a little daunting to start the process of washing and drying a duvet. But that doesn’t need to be the case. Many duvets are perfectly suited to tumble drying. Duvets with synthetic fillings are especially resilient to tumble dryers. Duvets have a reputation as an unforgiving type of bedding to wash and dry. Down fibre filling does...
Many people hold off from washing their duvets for fear of ruining it or a lack of knowledge about how to do it correctly. But since we shed skin cells and sweat when we sleep, and skin cells attract dust mites, it’s good hygiene to wash your duvet regularly. So, if you want to know how to wash a duvet...
